Thank you, I use Google Sketchup with a rendering plugin. Most of my drawings so far have been Tramway ( railway trolley ) related. I am trying to get enough support to operate a old fashioned rail tram between the Boise Depot and Mall. No rubber tires. Attached is a rendering I drew for the engine for the Simplicator. Basic oscillating design, twin, 2.5 " (6.35 cm ) Bore X 3.75" (9.5 cm) Stroke I have the real cylinders and pistons on hand, just need to purchase the half inch plate aluminum.by Doug-Ji - SteamStuff

thanks Ken I am making progress on my Steam Buggy that is inspired by the Smith/Pedersen "Educator" design. In my stuff, I have a Penberthy 21AA injector and was wondering if anyone has ever attempted to use one to feed water into a monotube steam generator. Hi I just watched a webvideo that showed a Besler steam powered Tram (streetcar) and a larger Steam powered Multiple Unit . The larger unit was converted into a streamlined Bi-directional unit from 2 heavy rail passenger coaches. Something historic, something new, which color, would be be exact copy of something already done? or would it have a combination of traits heretofore not attempted? I believe that if someone were to take the time and resources to make a steam car or other project, the efficiency should be measured by how fun the project is,the pride of showing something that was created, how many people stop what they are doing to watch it, how many people say "wow",etc. For example the new Locomobile aka Likamobile or Lykamobile can only cruise about 15 milesby Doug-Ji - SteamStuff

Who has the Bryan Engine? I have started an email conversation with an official with Southern California Timing Association. He has been very helpful and would like to see a Steam LSR set at Bonneville Speed Way. He believes the British spent about $10 Million over 10 years to make their speed run. Well my pint is done, it was about 38 F. Does any one have a handle on the current rules and regulations (and shi....stuff) required for a record run? Jim said that a push vehicle is allowed, up to what speed? does it have to have 4 wheels? does it have to be manned? or could it be laser guided? could it use a gasoline engine to power the water pump? fuel? gasoline like the original rockeby Doug-Ji - SteamStuff

hi Jim and Jeremy Thanks for all the details. Ok I think I have this straight. About a hundred years ago, the Stanleys and Fred Marrriot set a steam land speed record with an 18 foot long upside-down canoe, twin cylinder motor, and a 1600 psi boiler. The record is about 127 mph. Then about 30 years ago you two guys are responsible for a steam car that goes about 145 mph. Then someby Doug-Ji - SteamStuff
