Hey Ron, Thanks for the feedback I am well aware of the 2 issues you raise, and yet I can demonstrably isolate a group of a few million individuals who would be interested in steam cars for attributes which are considered marginal/redundant by the general population. To further clarify: the steam car I will build & sell will not appeal to the average driver and I have no illusions whby SteamHead - SteamStuff

While I'm not in the automobile industry, I was well aware of most of the obstacles you have pointed out (recalls being a result of subcontractor parts - super-insightful!). The potential in my project lies mostly (or currently, more accurate - solely) on the intended target market. My dear fellow steam enthusiasts! I am piecing together a project which will commercially produce a modern takeoff on steam cars for a niche (yet lucrative) market. My expertise is marketing/business-development, and unfortunately my engineering/design skills aren't up for the task.
