National Steam Automobile Day

I've decided that maybe SACA should apply for to have a National Steam Automobile Day here in the U.S. This seems reasonable given many of the other days that are recognized. Sometimes a national day even gets the occasional odd mention on morning driveby radio or newspaper trivia pages.

The dates I've come up with, so far, are:

Things to consider are how easily the day could be celebrated by steam car owners ... in most of the country, few will want to drive around in mid-winter. The day is less likely to get attention if overshadowed by other events, no one is going to notice if it's held on Christmas. You get the idea.

How about an actual new steam _automobile_ rather than some lip-service "observance" of old steam cars?
