I had never seen a picture of either of these gentlemen until this one turned up in Automotive Industries for Jun 11, 1938.

Here's a younger image of Erik Delling that appeared in the Stanley Motor Carriage Co. bulletin "The Steam Car" in announcing his arrival as chief engineer. There's another image of him in a Brooks flyer in a group photo of employees.

Before joining Stanley, Delling worked for Mason-Maytag and this picture was in a company brochure. It is the same picture that Jim Merrick posted but a really horrible copy, so at least we know that it was a "used" picture when Delling arrived at Stanley. Since the image was misnamed C H Delling, it made it a little harder to pry out of the internet.

Here's one that was in a Mercer article in the Antique Automobile a few years back.

What is the date of publication of the four-page article on the Delling car in Motor magazine around 1926. I need a clear copy of the drawings but asking the Library of Congress to go through about 4700 pages of the 1936 weekly issues is a bit too much for them.
The article as reprinted, which I think was done by Bob Ostwald of Staten Island, was widely circulated. It starts with a two page spread and is titled "Some Folks Like a Steam Car...Here is a New One of Improved Design.
