I spoke to a grand child of Ralph Hood, His 1899 Electromagnetic Steamer is sitting in a family garage and might be available. The family is interested in having someone restore it and not placed on static display in a museum. I am working on getting current photos and details.

Ok, that would be soooooo cool to see it running. It would be even more cool to put it back into service!

What a brilliant collection of history on that site. The Ralph Hood is a bit hard to find among all the makes but it is listed under Danvers and Simplex about 25% down the page of the link. Not much information on it but it seems very different to anything else with solenoid operated poppet valves and a four cylinder engine cast in one piece with the boiler - howver that could be. Let's hope someone at least gets a good look at it so it can be written up.
